we visited papa's grave earlier today and after lighting several candles my sisters and i sat in silence, each lost in her own thoughts.. i was thinking of how i missed papa's antics when my Ate Dianne's voice penetrated my musings, and the question she directed at Ate Nazie was somehow engraved in my mind.. "Ate san nililibing ang mahihirap?"So i realized that even in death people are ambling for exclusivity. My dad is buried in Golden Haven, it's a private cemetery and his plot costs a couple of thousand grand. So how can the poor afford that? even in death, even at the end of their time money still affects man.
the poor often rests in crowded public cemeteries, while the rich well, more often than not they rest their bones in mausoleums, the flashier the better for the bereaved families of the influential. Look at the pyramids in Egypt for crying out loud, those monstrosities built in decades house the remains of pharaohs, princes of the dessert, While the servants, where do they rest after their mortal life? we don't really know. it wasn't important enough to be recorded in history.
It baffles the mind.
